What causes the uvula to touch the tongue?
I realized that my uvula is touching my tongue, I wanted to know if this is normal. When I open my mouth and say Ahhh… it curls somewhat facing the entrance to my mouth. In words I feel my uvula is a bit long and wanted to know if this is normal. I am not overweight, I maintain a healthy diet, I work out, and have no sleeping disorders (snoring) or breathing disorders.

I would think that bad breath could come about as a result of an extended uvula, not life threatening unless, shortness of breath commences and or sleep pattern is distorted. Also bacteria can grow and accumulate….You mention NO symptoms as of yet, hope this is the case down the road….Sore throats ?? Monit it over time ..
